With all this renewal of energy going on around us in the natural world it’s also the perfect opportunity to Spring Clean your business to prepare it for the rest of the year and act as a check that you are portraying a visual image that reflects your brand.
Update your About page
Have a read through your About page on your website and/or online store. Is the information on there current? Does it reflect your business’s brand, inspiration and creative process? Does it tell your story to customers and help them to understand how you make and create your product? This also applies to your social media accounts.
Tidy your paperwork
This applies to your electronic files and actual paper-paperwork. Is all of your work backed up somewhere safe and secure? Check through your folders. What can be archived or recycled? Can you easily find all of your documents in your current folder structure?
Rejuvenate your office space
Take a look around your office space. Whether it is the kitchen table, home office, coffee shop or on the high street, how does it look right this moment? Is it organised exactly how you would like it to be? There are so many storage options out there on the market so no excuses for an untidy work space, or get crafty and make something bespoke. Do the walls need a lick of paint to brighten them up? Is it well-lit and comfortable? If a complete redecoration is too much at the moment, add a bunch of pretty Spring flowers to your desk and bring that cheerfulness indoors.
Review your photos
The photographs you put out there to your customers really are essential to your business’s success. Choose them wisely. Do you have any old images on display, can they be updated? Have you looked at what others are doing with their images? Do you think you would benefit from a workshop to improve your photography skills? Please do let me know if this is something of interest, my workshops are coming soon.
So open your windows as wide as they will go, put on your favourite music and get the feather dusters out.
